About Us - What We Do

The Office of Planning, Design, and Construction manages your project from initiation through completion of warranty.  We will provide project leadership, communication, coordination and conflict resolution to ensure the project requirements are met. PDC also helps to mitigate project and organizational risk by assuring regulatory compliance throughout the project delivery process.

General project management services

  • Act as a primary leader with institution management for project activities, from project development through scoping, budget, and schedule definition, execution, and reporting.
  • Strategize a project delivery method
  • Develop, analyze, evaluate, and forecast project schedules
  • Develop and manage project budget

Project design services

  • Provide preliminary programming, design, and space planning services
  • Provide interior design, campus space standards, finish standards, and procurement of furniture and equipment
  • Manage the work of outside professional design firms
  • Manage the work of the institution's wayfinding and graphics
  • Manage the work of the institution's art program

Institution master planning services

  • Maintain and update the institution's master plan in support of the University of Mississippi Medical Center's strategic plan
  • Develop, analyze, evaluate, and forecast future facility needs

Real estate portfolio management services

  • Act as a primary liaison for all real estate transactions, including real estate property acquisitions and leases
  • Maintain records for all UMMC real estate assets
  • Negotiate real estate transactions and coordinate approvals with governing agencies

Space requests

  • Act as primary liaison with institution management for¬†space request, including the initial request for space changes or new space
  • Determine scope of request and determine if it requires additional approvals or request for capital funding

Move, add, change (MAC) management services

  • Manage the processes required for facility changes, including DIS coordination, when there is a new occupant or use of a building space, or movement of users from one space to another.
