An annual comedy show in Hattiesburg has given Children’s of Mississippi patients a great reason to smile. The Laughs 4 Life Smile Room in the Batson Tower of the state’s only children’s hospital is now open, giving them a fun, interactive place to play during hospital stays.

Venessia Randle has been with UMMC for over 10 years—currently serving as project manager for the School of Dentistry. But she had another life prior to joining the Medical Center. With features in New York Times and performances for the President of the United States, Randle spent much of her life as an acclaimed blues musician.
