Working on the northeast corner of the UMMC campus, future anthropologists and archaeologists recently gained valuable experience while also helping the Medical Center honor a commitment made on behalf of thousands of deceased patients from a hospital that closed long ago.

Virtual reality is bringing real results to Children’s of Mississippi patients. During imaging and treatment, VR headsets can transport children to undersea adventures and more, reducing anxiety. Studies have shown that using VR headsets can also reduce pain.

More than 80 current Medical Center faculty will begin the new academic year with a promotion in rank, newly granted tenure, or both. Faculty are listed alphabetically, by school, in rank order of professor with tenure, associate professor with tenure, professor, and associate professor.

Medical Center faculty and staff often are recognized regionally, nationally and internationally for their academic or medical achievements. These accolades place UMMC among health science centers worldwide.
