Jackson-area patients who cannot afford health insurance have often depended on volunteers at the Jackson Free Clinic for their non-emergency medical care. Now, through the Department of Radiology's efforts, the clinic’s providers can get an even closer look at their patients’ health.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, experts in the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry are urging patients to continue their routine dental care and not to delay necessary dental procedures, such as root canals, extractions or fillings. SOD dental teams are using best practices and protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help ensure patients stay safe during their visits.

Regions Bank presented the Campaign for Children’s of Mississippi with a $225,000 gift to help fund the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower. The expansion, a complement to the Blair E. Batson Tower of the state’s only children’s hospital, will open for patient care Nov. 2 at UMMC.
