Every day at the Medical Center, patients with pulmonary disease, asthma, sleep apnea and other respiratory maladies depend on medical professionals like Kimberly Carter and Trina Dobson for their care. In tribute to their vital work as respiratory therapists, UMMC recently recognized Carter and Dobson as the first recipients of the PHIL Award.
Ten years ago, UMMC recognized its first exceptional frontline caregiver with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Since then, 121 nurses have earned the coveted daisy pin to place on their name badges. Last Friday, UMMC broadened its participation in the national DAISY program by presenting the Medical Center’s first DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.
