Dr. Loretta Jackson-Williams, the Last Lecture speaker, offered several insights drawn from her years in the hospital and the classroom. But one of the most important lessons she described during the fourth annual presentation Wednesday literally hit home for her.

Whatever or wherever their role, Medical Center employees are appreciated for their dedication to building a healthier Mississippi. Activities during Nurses Week and Employee Appreciation Week are designed to give a tip of the hat to those who embrace UMMC’s mission, vision and values.

Healing is often connected to a patient’s heart and soul, and that lends itself to hope and inspiration from experiencing the arts. UMMC’s Healing Arts Program provides a way for patients and their families to have an emotionally and culturally fulfilling experience that can speed the healing process and build their connection to UMMC.
