Decades have passed since the Mississippi State Hospital for the Insane in Jackson closed. Many of the patients who died there came to a lonely and unmarked end. But today, more and more of their descendants are coming forward to restore their history in a Medical Center-led effort advanced by the awarding of a federal grant.
