After Dr. Roya Attar earned two bachelor’s degrees, her doctor of optometry and a master’s degree, she provided comprehensive eye exams to patients of all ages and launched her avocation for public health. Letting interviews with Children’s of Mississippi patients be their inspiration, members of the Pride of the South, Ole Miss’ band, presented a halftime show featuring songs from patients’ favorite movies and bands. The Sept. 22 performance was topped off with the band spelling out the name of the state’s only children’s hospital – Batson.
