Nursing is a calling for Esther Copeland. The daughter of a pair of U.S. Marines, she’s become accustomed to the adventure of traveling with her parents. As she graduates from nursing school, Copeland is building on her life experiences as a candidate for the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps.

When Elizabeth Hargrove goes to work after graduation, she’ll start with more pharmacy knowledge than most. The Grenada resident has worked as a pharmacy technician in retail and hospital settings for seven years.

The UMMC Cancer Institute's director was among the cancer researchers, physicians, entrepreneurs, religious leaders, media and other invited to attend the Fourth International Vatican Conference, which included a discussion about the promises and hurdles posed by new advances in cancer therapies.
