But UMMC’s newest transplant surgeons aspire to do much more: They’re determined to educate patients about how crucial addressing issues that can lead to organ failure can be.
Through the years, UMMC's DAISY Committee has bestowed its signature award to many individual nurses for the extraordinary care they have provided to Medical Center patients and their families. For the first time, an entire team of health care providers was honored for helping save a life in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.
The inaugural awards ceremony to recognize UMMC faculty, staff, students and alumni making great strides to increase diversity and inclusion, The Pillars, took place Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson.
