UMMC’s Campus Police is 100 strong, and it shows – through blue lights, officers' presence in hospital halls and the department's response to any threat to safety at the Medical Center. Associated Student Body members treated Campus Police employees to a lunch at the Student Union Tuesday as a "thank you" for a job well done.

UMMC’s newest residency program - in preventive medicine - will employ more experts who know how to help people get better before they get sick. Its arrival suggests good things are ahead for the state of Mississippi’s health.

Tomeka Harps credits a church congregational nurse for encouraging her to attend a 2017 event at the UMMC Cancer Institute, where Harps' cancer was discovered. During and after treatment, she has encouraged dozens of other women to stop postponing their cancer screenings.

Every day, UMMC caregivers use products from Mississippi Blood Services to help save the lives of patients who require transfusions. MBS depends on donations from the public to meet the needs of hospitals statewide. UMMC employees can roll up their sleeves and help make a difference when MBS comes to campus Jan. 17.

Medical Center leadership is proud to acknowledge those employees who will celebrate service anniversaries during the week of Jan. 15-21.
