Century Club Charities, a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for charitable causes, has donated $1.2 million from the 2017 Sanderson Farms Championship golf tournament to Friends of Children's Hospital. In the last five years, proceeds given to Children's of Mississippi from the PGA TOUR event have surpassed $5.5 million.

When UMMC’s abdominal transplant program rebooted in 2013 after a 22-year hiatus from liver transplantation, Ashley Seawright was ready. The nurse practitioner is being lauded by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons for her clinical and administrative leadership and dedication to ensuring a high level of care for those receiving new organs.
