Children’s of Mississippi leaders are expressing their gratitude for the Junior League of Jackson’s dedication to expanding pediatric facilities at UMMC. The philanthropy of the volunteer group comes just a day after IHL trustees gave final approval for construction of a new children’s tower.

Dr. Michael Lehman, professor and chair of neurobiology and anatomical sciences, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Lehman is the second UMMC faculty member in as many years to receive one of the highest honors a scientist can receive.

The University of Mississippi debuted the Flagship Constellations program Nov. 17 on the Oxford campus. The initiative leverages the skills and expertise of faculty, staff and students at UM and the Medical Center in four areas: big data, brain wellness, community wellbeing and disaster resilience.
