The opening of the new School of Medicine academic building has already facilitated growth for other UMMC schools. The M.S. in Biomedical Sciences, which prepares potential medical, dental and Ph.D. students for the next stage of their education, has a record number of students this year.

Gridiron rivals Mississippi State and Ole Miss are teaming to make dreams come true for some Batson Children's Hospital patients this football season. 'Kid Captains' from the hospital so far have helped lead their favorite teams to big wins at home.

Music and the mind share a special connection. Later this month, the Mississippi Chorus will explore that bond during the special concert, “Alzheimer’s Stories.” The three-part piece tells the story of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia through song. Sponsored in part by The MIND Center, concert proceeds will benefit research, clinical care and caregiver support in Mississippi.
