  • State Authorization

    The University of Mississippi Medical Center maintains a physical presence in Mississippi and is authorized to operate as an institution of higher education by the Mississippi Institutions for Higher Learning (IHL)/Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation (MCCA). The IHL/MCCA is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. In addition, many of the University of Mississippi Medical Center's academic programs carry specialized accreditation specific to the profession.     State authorization information

    The University of Mississippi Medical Center may need to be legally authorized to serve students in certain states outside of Mississippi. Please review the State Authorization Compliance Table to determine if the University of Mississippi Medical Center is currently able to admit students from your state or place students in an experiential activity outside of Mississippi.     NC-SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements)

    The University of Mississippi Medical Center is approved by the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

    NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. Learn more about NC-SARA.
