Photocopy Request

Photocopy machines are available for public use. Change is available at the Circulation Desk for bills no greater than $5.

A microfilm/fiche reader/printer is located in the library for paper copies of information on film or fiche. Copies are paid for at the Circulation Desk. UMMC personnel making reader/printer copies charging to a departmental code must contact the Circulation Desk for assistance.

Warning concerning copyright restrictions

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "Fair Use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the request would involve violation of copyright law.

PHAROS printing for students

Students receive Pharos printing credits once per academic year. This credit is typically applied in August. The credit amounts to 500 copies and does not roll over to the next year if it is not used. There is no monetary value associated with these credits. After the credit is depleted, students are responsible for adding additional funds to their printing account. Cash, credit cards or checks are accepted at the Circulation Desk for adding funds to a student's Pharos account.

The library does not provide refunds for unused Pharos copies, or copies that are purchased. If additional copies are purchased through Pharos, and the patron does not exhaust these copies, a printing credit will be added to a Pharos account for the next academic year.
