Marcus Zachariah, M.D., Ph.D., a native of Gilroy, CA, he is the son and grandson of ENT surgeons and grew up on an orchard. He recently joined the UMMC Department of Neurosurgery as an assistant professor after completing fellowship training in pituitary and skull base surgery at The Ohio State University/James Cancer Center. He received his doctor of philosophy degree and medical degree from the University of California San Francisco via the prestigious NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program, and completed his neurosurgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zachariah is the only fellowship-trained pituitary and skull base tumor surgeon in Mississippi. He offers cutting-edge, minimally invasive approaches to complex skull base and intracranial tumors including the expanded endonasal approach, neuroendoscopy and minimally invasive port-guided surgery. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys cycling, hiking and skiing.
