Biography
My name is Holly Walker. I am originally from Lexington, MS but have lived in Jackson, MS for the last twenty years. I have been married for nine years and have two children, ages five and one. Growing up in a small town with limited resources and access helped me to choose my career path of helping others. Initially I chose Social Work as my career, but later changed to Nursing due to the number of wonderful opportunities available with the ability to still do what I love to do, which is help others. I received a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Jackson State University (JSU)in 1999, and received a Master of Social Work Degree in 2001 from JSU as well. I received an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2005 from Copiah Lincoln College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2008. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing Program at the University of MS Medical Center with an anticipated graduation date of May 2016. My career interests are to work in an underserved rural area. My hobbies include riding bicycles, traveling, shopping and spending time with family.
