Dr. Holly Hopkins Peeples is a native of Oxford, MS and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with a BA degree in Biology and French and received the Taylor Medal in French. After spending a year in France, she returned to attend medical school and graduated in 1984 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She did her internship year in Family Medicine and spent the next two years as a Health Officer in the Mississippi Department of Health, District V. After finishing her residency in Family Medicine at UMMC, she was appointed to Family Medicine faculty. Her major interest is the training of residents in the ambulatory clinic setting and improving the health of Mississippians. She was asked to be the Medical Director of the ACT Center for Tobacco Treatment, Education and Research in 2002 and has held this position since that time. The ACT Center is, not only regionally, but nationally respected as one of the foremost Tobacco Treatment Centers in America.
