Born in 1980 to a physician couple, I grew up in a family full of physicians. Driven by the sense of professional satisfaction that my parents enjoyed despite the tedious nature of their jobs, inspired me to be a physician. I secured a spot at the Kasturba Medical College and graduated in 2005 with a 'Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery' (M.B.B.S) degree. My pursuit for higher education brought me to America, and I completed my Internship and Internal medicine residency at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. After completing my residency in 2010, I attended Harvard University for two years as a clinical and research fellow in Celiac DIsease at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA. I completed a formal Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015 and stayed on as a faculty within my division.
