What does the CMO office do?

  • Support services for the Medical Center:  content experts who help the front line do the work
  • Integrate input and ideas from multiple areas to support strategic priorities
  • Required reporting of hospital and provider data on quality, safety and outcomes
  • Define performance gaps in clinical services to inform leadership and as the basis for quality improvement programs
  • Oversees an infrastructure for clinical quality improvement for the Medical Center
  • Implement a process for setting quality improvement goals with input and buy-in from all branches of leadership
  • Define the metrics (one-source-of-truth) for quality improvement in collaboration with other offices for The Quality Scorecard
  • Collect, manage and disseminate quality data monthly with an emphasis on transparency
  • Communication: Clinical Intranet/Leadership Rounds
  • Accountability: Quarterly data review with Department Chairs
