Mild to Moderate CA-UTI

Indications

  • Mild to moderate CA-UTI

First line treatment

  • Ceftriaxone 1g IV every 24 hours
    or
  • Bactrim DS 1 tablet PO every 12 hours

Penicillin alternative

  • Ciprofloxacin 500mg PO or 400 mg IV every 12 hours¬†
    or
  • Levofloxacin 750 mg IV/PO daily

Duration

  • 7 days if resolution is prompt
  • 10-14 days for delayed response to treatment
