Dr. Keith C. Norris is an internationally recognized clinician scientist and health policy leader who has been instrumental in shaping national health policy and clinical practice guidelines for chronic kidney disease (CKD). In addition to being board certified in internal medicine and nephrology, he is an American Society of Hypertension, Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. He serves as a member of American Association of Kidney Patients Medical Advisory Board, the ESRD Network 3 Medical Review Board and as a member of the NIIH/NIDDK-United States Renal Data System external experts panel. His research interests focus on hypertension and CKD in disadvantaged populations and increasing diversity in the biomedical and health professional workforce. Presently, he directs the NIH Diversity Program Consortium Coordination and Evaluation Center at UCLA, the centerpiece of a $230 million NIH initiative to enhance diversity in the biomedical workforce. Dr. Norris has received numerous honors and awards and has co-authored over 370 articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus for the international journal Ethnicity and Disease, and serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology and the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
