Grade Forgiveness Policy

Applicants to the Bower School of Population Health (SoPH) at UMMC who have earned a grade of D or F in a course and who have successfully repeated the course at the same institution may have the higher grade used in calculating the overall GPA for admission.

UMMC graduate students who earn a grade of C or below in a course in the SoPH may retake the course once, and the grade earned in the repeated course will be used in calculating the student’s overall UMMC GPA. Although the original grade will not be calculated into the student’s GPA, it will remain on the transcript.

Students may only remediate two courses in which they earn a C or below over the course of the degree program.
