PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency

The University of Mississippi offers a comprehensive postgraduate residency training experience with a PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency program. This multi-site program has three positions (two in Jackson and one in Oxford), each providing experiences at innovative practice sites.

The program offers unique opportunities for precepting doctor of pharmacy students, providing education and individualized medication therapy management programs in community and clinical settings, and conducting research. Graduates of this program will have the clinical competence and skills necessary to manage and/or establish a community pharmacy practice; counsel, educate and evaluate patients; teach students, and provide pharmaceutical services. The resident will be prepared for an adjunct faculty preceptor position in a community setting or a non-tenure clinical faculty track position within a school of pharmacy.
