Since its inception in 1955, UMMC researchers have made great strides in discovery and innovation. From world-renowned studies on heart disease, diabetes and hypertension to advanced treatments for cancer, researchers at UMMC are unraveling the diseases that affect Mississippians. However, they cannot do it alone. Participation from the community is vital to achieving the mission of improving the lives of Mississippians.
UMMC researchers invite you to join them in their quest to improve the health of Mississippians and all mankind by becoming a UMMC research partner. A UMMC research partner is willing to participate in opportunities to help improve the health of the community and of future generations. By becoming a UMMC research partner, you can contribute to advancing science. You may also learn more about your health and gain access to experimental treatments.
In order to become a UMMC research partner, simply enter your information into our online registry. A research professional may then contact you to provide more information about studies at UMMC. Whether to participate is always up to you.
To prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, UMMC is proudly participating in American Heart Month. Throughout the year, UMMC researchers are actively seeking to understand and address heart disease in many ways, through studies on novel imaging and wound healing, clinical trials, and research around heart health disparities, among others. This month, we are highlighting cardiovascular research occurring on campus. To explore the cardiovascular studies currently taking place at UMMC, visit the “Available Studies/Cardiovascular” page.
