CIRT

Purpose

This study, referred to as CIRT, is looking at whether taking an approved medication reduces heart attacks, strokes, or death in people with type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome who have had a heart attack or multi-vessel coronary artery disease.

  • Principal Investigator: William F. Campbell, MD

Who can participate

Those eligible to participate in this study include:

  • Adults age 18 and older who
    • Have either type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome; and 
    • Have either had a heart attack or a heart catheterization that shows multi-vessel coronary artery disease.
