Core Resources
Main ContentAdministrative and Mentoring Core
The Administrative and Mentoring Core will provide support to maintain and enhance research cores that are essential for cutting edge basic research with translational relevance in the psychiatric neurosciences, further the transition to a self-sustaining center of research excellence in psychiatric neuroscience funded by research grants to investigators, by a collaborative program project grant and by seeking funding Mississippi corporate and private sources to establish a major UMMC research initiative using basic and clinical research to develop new strategies for the treatment of mental illnesses.
The Administrative and Mentoring Core will provide crucial leadership by providing guidance at a broad level to support collaborative multidisciplinary research of high quality through the intellectual and material resources of the Center, provide mentoring and research training for career development of investigators using the research cores, using quality assurance methods to evaluate and improve research cores, administer a Pilot Program for junior investigators, promote collaborations with the COBRE an INBRE sites within the state and ensure that Psychiatric Neuroscience will grow as a component of the overall Neuroscience Strategic Plan at UMMC.
