The Tracking and Evaluation Core ensures that the CCTR's Cores and Program meet milestones and satisfy deliverables. It provides accurate and timely information to CCTR leaders and advisory committees to guide resource allocation and for reporting to the CCTR institutions and NIGMS.
The Pilot Projects Program supports pilot projects that are most likely to lead to extramural funding and sustained independent research. In addition, it seeks to increase the diversity of Mississippi faculty members who can compete successfully for extramural funding. Finally, it will support projects that are considered most likely to lead to obesity and obesity-related disorders.
In recognition of the importance of community engaged research and intervention, the Community Engaged Research (CEnR) Core has been created. The CEnR Core oversees the Community Engaged Research (CEnR) Institute, an annual two-week residential Summer Institute that trains selected junior faculty members from all major Mississippi universities in the principles and practice of CEnR, and the CEnR Working Group.
