Assessment Calendar

The assessment calendar includes notifications, trainings, and submission deadlines that are important for conducting and managing the review of unit/program assessment plans and effectiveness reports.

Summary of cycle events

Approximately two months before the end of an assessment cycle, the Office of Assessment notifies unit/program representatives (submitters) of an upcoming end-of-cycle report deadline. It is at this point, submitters are informed that data analysis should be underway, and that plans for future outcome assessments should be formulated. Submitters are also made aware of assessment training opportunities.

Shortly thereafter, reviewers from the Office of Assessment and/or the Institutional Assessment Committee receive information which outlines the submission deadline for report reviews, and the schedule for reviewer assessment training. Reports are submitted after units/programs have had time to analyze assessment data and implement actions. Reviewers appraise unit/program effectiveness reports and provide submitters with constructive feedback. Submitters revise unit/program reports in accordance with reviewer feedback, and submit a final report for reviewer approval. The assessment cycle is closed after report revisions have been reviewed.

Assessment plans for the following assessment cycle are submitted two weeks after the previous assessment cycle has been completed. The review process is then repeated for assessment plans. The completed reports for assessment plans and end-of-year effectiveness reports are stored within the UMMC TracDat document repository. Contributors to the IP and AES assessment cycles may access a detailed description of timelines and contributor instructions by logging into the UMMC TracDat site and consulting resource files in the document repository (see Assessment Essentials training materials).
