Schwartz Rounds to reminisce about patients
Dr. Rick Boyte, professor of pediatrics and director of palliative medicine, and Jimmy Gatewood, patient affairs social work coordinator, will facilitate the Schwartz Center Rounds presentation, “My Most Memorable Patient,” from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, in classroom R153 (lower amphitheatre).
Doris Whitaker, UMMC chaplain, Driscoll Devaul, Batson Children’s Hospital respiratory care director, and Megan Ford, pediatric cardiovascular social worker, will serve as panelists for the event, which will discuss the value of the human connection between patients and caregivers and what can be learned from interaction with patients.
All health-care professionals are invited. Lunch will be served on a first-come basis. Attendees must present a valid UMMC identification badge.
