Ukrainians explore academic health sciences
A group of young professionals from the Ukraine, tapped as possible future leaders of their country, visited UMMC March 26 to better understand the functions and roles of an academic health science center.
Their afternoon included a talk by Michael Jones on rural health outreach and a discussion and demonstration by Dr. Kristi Henderson about how UMMC uses Telehealth to bring specialty care to rural parts of the state.
The International Visitors Center of Jackson, part of Jackson State University, organized the trip and played host to the group, which spent a week in the U.S.
