CCHO receives minority HIV/AIDS fellowship
Michael Jones, chief community health officer, was granted a two-year fellowship through Brown University in Providence, R.I., to research and implement results of a community HIV and AIDS study.
The Brown Initiative in HIV and AIDS Clinical Research for Minority Communities will provide Jones with training and education, mentorship and support for his research project. Faculty mentors at Brown and UMMC will advise him throughout the fellowship in the development, submission and execution of his project.
The program includes a five-week component at Brown University called the Summer Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, for which the program covers travel, tuition, room and board expenses.
