Med assistant receives customer service kudos
Terry A. Walker, a medical office assistant at the Batson Community Clinic, received a customer service award during the monthly hospital leadership meeting Sept. 18 in the Classroom Wing.
Walker was recognized by the awards team for exemplifying the Medical Center's values and standards of performance by helping reunite a lost 3-year-old child with his parents.
According to the award nomination, "When no one . . . could identify the child, she (Walker) contacted her manager and Campus Police. She then turned her attention to comforting the child.
"The employee took the child and, hand-in-hand, they walked several blocks until they located his parents."
