ED trauma nurse to lead support troops

Kevin Beasley, an Emergency Department trauma nurse and a commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve Nurse Corps, will mobilize to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia Beach, Va., this month to serve in a medical unit responsible for more than 28,000 combat support troops around the globe.

Beasley will be the first nurse to have the title of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Force Nurse. As the NECC Force Nurse, Beasley will provide analysis and recommendations and assist the NECC Force Surgeon in developing policy guidelines for medical units under the oversight of the Navy Expeditionary Command.
