AAP elects pediatrician chapter treasurer
Dr. Kathryn E. Schneider, assistant professor of pediatrics, was recently elected chapter treasurer/vice president-elect of the Mississippi Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics for 2013-2014.
Schneider is assistant training director for the pediatric residency program and is the daughter of Dr. Bev Evans, former chairman of pediatrics.
The Mississippi Chapter is a membership organization for pediatricians across the state that represents more than 330 primary and specialty care physicians. The organization provides quality continuing medical education for physicians and advocates for the health and well-being of Mississippi's children.
The organization supports physicians in practice by advocating for policy and practices that optimize their services and impact in their practices and their communities.
Schneider will help to shape the chapter's priorities and activities and maintain a sound financial basis for the organization.
