Office of Research launches new internal site

The Office of Research recently launched its improved intranet site, premiering new user-friendly features, streamlined content and a more accessible format for investigators.  Features include a streamlined Forms and Templates page where PIs can download budget and contract templates, policy and transmittal forms plus more with ease, a Funding Opportunities page that lists upcoming deadlines and external and internal funding opportunities and new pages that includes resources for Clinical Research and Grants & Contracts.

The most anticipated feature is the new initiative, FundU, which provides UMMC faculty members with examples of funded basic, clinical, population and translations proposals along with mentors, peer review boards and other grantwriting assistance. "Extramural funding has become increasingly difficult to obtain and just as difficult to maintain, said Chair Dr. Babbette LaMarca. "We wanted to provide an avenue to facilitate funding applications at all career levels."

The website will be a work in progress with new features including interactive training opportunities and information about research enhancement programs coming in the next few months.

The OoR is asking for visitors to provide feedback on its design, features and contents so it can fine-tune the new website to ensure that it’s serving all of UMMC's faculty and staff at the highest level.  All feedback and questions can be sent to
