Taste of the U to brings food, fun, fundraising to Jackson Medical Mall on Saturday

WHAT: Taste of the U, the Medical Center’s annual extravaganza of food, themes, music and costumes will fill the Jackson Medical Mall to raises funds for the UMMC Alliance.

The event is the Medical Center’s biggest party. Chef teams from departments, offices and divisions all across UMMC each prepare a booth, theme, costumes and taste-size portions of food. They compete for titles and work to impress celebrity judges and taste-goers alike, who can vote for their favorite displays. Taste also includes live music from the Jason Turner Band, a silent auction and an awards presentation.

MEDIA: Members of the media do not need tickets. Simply tell the attendant you are with the media and ask for Jack Mazurak, the Taste of the U publicity volunteer.

WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 22 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

WHERE: The Jackson Medical Mall Thad Cochran Center, 2548 Livingston Road, Jackson MS.

WHY: Taste of the U raises funds for the UMMC Alliance, a nonprofit that benefits Medical Center patients, families, students and facilities.
