Good oral hygiene promotes overall health. However, many Mississippi children don’t receive regular dental care. Through the national Give Kids a Smile program, children from three Jackson Public Schools – Casey Elementary, Galloway Elementary and Johnson Elementary – will receive free dental exams, cleanings, sealants and referrals for any necessary additional care. Volunteers include students and faculty from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry; the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Mississippi School of Health Related Professions; and Delta Technical College’s Dental Assistant program.
