WHAT: Medical students participating in Movember will show off their outlandish mustaches, groomed as a part of the national campaign to raise money and awareness for the men’s health issues of prostate and testicular cancers.

WHEN: Today, 12:30 p.m., Nov. 15, UMMC campus

WHERE: Public Affairs office in the Verner S. Holmes Learning Resource Center, park in the lot in front of the building.

WHY: November is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Mississippi men suffer some of the nation’s highest rates of prostate cancer, a disease that can be detected and treated effectively. Funds raised for research and increased public awareness can help lower the incidence and death rates.
