56th Annual Commencement Set for Friday

WHAT: A total of 614 students have earned degrees at the University of Mississippi Medical Center this year. University of Mississippi Chancellor Dan Jones and Dr. James Keeton, UMMC vice chancellor for health affairs, will address students and an estimated 3,000 guests at the 56th annual UMMC commencement ceremony for graduating physicians, dentists, nurses, allied health professionals, and graduate students in the health sciences. 

WHEN: Friday, May 25 at 10 a.m. Please plan to arrive by 9:15 a.m. if you want to interview students before the two-hour ceremony starts.

WHERE: Mississippi Coliseum, 1207 Mississippi St., Jackson

WHY: Many of the graduating students will choose to work in Mississippi, where access to health care often ranks lowest in the nation.
