• How to Install and Use Mobile Applications for Selected Rowland Medical Library Databases

     ClinicalKey iPhone, iTouch, iPadAndroid

    • From the Library homepage, under RESOURCES, click E-Databases.

    • Under the "All Resources" tab search: ClinicalKey  [without a space]

    • In the upper right-hand corner, select "Register" and create a free account.

    • Once registered, the mobile app may be downloaded from the iTunes or Google Play app store.

    • Once in the app, two options will appear - Click on ClinicalKey.

    • Login using your username and password.

    VisualDX iPhone, iTouch, iPadAndroid

    • Click on VisualDX under QUICK LINKS, on the Library homepage.

    • Click on "VisualDX Mobile" in the top right-hand corner and create your personal VisualDX account.

    • Go to the app store on your phone and download the free app.

    • Login using your username and password.

    DynaMed i-Phone, i-TouchBlackberryAndroid Palm Windows Mobile

    • Click on Dynamed under QUICK LINKS on the Library's homepage.

    • Click on "Mobile" in the top left, inside the blue bar.  Enter your email address for download instruction, link and the access key.

    • NOTE: Each DynaMed serial number lasts for 1 year.  Please contact the dynamedsupport@ebscohost.com for a new number when the current one expires.

    Micromedex i-Phone, i-TouchAndroid

    • Go to the App Store, search for "Micromedex," and install the app.

    • After opening the app on your device, enter the password listed on the Micromedex "Download Center" page. 

    BrowZine iPhone, iTouch, iPadAndroid

    • Go to the App Store, search for "BrowZine" and install the app.

    • For desktop use go to:  http://browzine.com/libraries/503/subjects (for off-campus use, log in with UMMC id/password, then select UMMC Rowland Medical Library).

    Lexi-CompiPhone, iTouch, iPadAndroid

    • Go to the App Store, search for "Lexi-Comp" and install the app.

    Nursing Reference CenteriPhone, iTouch, iPad

    • Click on E-databases, located under RESOURCES on the Library's homepage.

    • Search for "Nursing Reference Center," under the "All Resources" tab.

    • Scroll to the bottom and click on NRC iPhone/iTouch application.

    • Enter your email to receive further instructions.

    PubMed iPhone, iTouch, iPadAndroid

    • 3 (three) versions available for iPhone/iPad:

      • PubMed on Tap --$2.99

      • PubMed on Tap Lite --FREE (has all features of the full version but only returns only 10 records per search)

      • PubMed for Handhelds - FREE

    • PubMed for Handhelds are available for Android on Google Play.

    Two (2) mobile versions of PubMed can be accessed through any web browser:

    • From your desktop, click "UpToDate" under QUICK LINKS on the Library's homepage.

    • In the upper right-hand corner, select "Log In/Register" and create a free account.

    • Once registered, the mobile app may be downloaded from the App Store.

    STAT!Ref E-Book Titles iPhone, iTouch, iPad BlackberryAndroid

    • ON CAMPUS, go to the Library's homepage. Click "E-Databases" under RESOURCES.

    • Under the "All Resources" tab search:  STAT!Ref. Click on the link under that title.

    • Click on "My STAT!Ref," located at the top right corner of the page.

    • Create an account.

    • Click on "Temporary Login Account" and then click "Activate."

    • Go to your mobile device and download the STAT!Ref app.

    • After the app has been downloaded click on it and log in using your username and password from the account you created.

    • From the STAT!Ref app, choose the book title you wish to view.

    EBSCO databases iPhone, iTouch, iPadAndroid
    (Alt-HealthWatch, CINAHL, Cochrane Databases, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE), Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition, Health Technology Assessments,PsycINFO, Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection)

    • The EBSCOHost app for iPhone and iTouch is available from the app store but must be activated after downloading

    • Go to "E-Databases" under RESOURCES on the Library's webpage. Search under the "All Resources" tab.

    • Type in the name of the database for which you are searching.

    • Scroll to the bottom of the database page and clink on "EBSCOHost iPhone and Android applications."  Enter your email address to receive the instructions for downloading the app.

    • Once activated, open and click settings at the bottom to select databases, publication dates and/or full-text or peer-reviewed search options.
