• Creating a 'My NCBI' Account

    To create an NCBI account, go to PubMed and click on "Sign in to NCBI" in the top right corner of the page.

    • Click "Register for a NCBI Account."
    • Create your username and password.

    Saving Your Searches in Your My NCBI Account

    • Once created, your NCBI account can save your searches and have results sent to you on a regular basis.
    • Go to PubMed and login to your My NCBI account.
    • Do a search for your topic.
    • Click on "Save search," located beneath the search box.
    • Once you have clicked on "save," you will have the option to choose e-mail alerts of new publications on this topic.  You can choose either daily, weekly or monthly updates. 

    Other Useful Features of Your My NCBI Account

    Allows you to:

    • Set up personalized filters
    • Set up collections to organize your search results
    • Save and organize your bibliographic information which can be private or available for public viewing
    • Integrate your eRA Commons with "My Bibliography", which will facilitate maintaining compliance with NIH grants.
