Who can use UMMC 2 You?

Any individual covered under the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi State and School Employees' Health Insurance Plan is eligible. This includes the primary beneficiary and all dependents covered under the plan.

Is my health information protected and safe?

Protecting your health information is very important to us. Our services are safe, secure, and HIPAA and HITECH compliant. All data transmitted during an appointment is encrypted, while in transit and after delivery. We ensure that you will have the same, or higher, level of privacy you would expect while at any doctor’s office.

What conditions can you treat?

We see a wide variety of minor medical conditions, including (but not limited to) allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cellulitis, cold and flu, constipation, diarrhea, ear infection, fever, gout, headache, infections, insect bites, joint aches and pains, poison ivy, rashes, respiratory infections, sinus infections, skin inflammation, sore throat, and urinary tract infection.

Can you prescribe medication?

All of our providers can prescribe recommended medications for your treatment plan, if needed. Be sure to have your pharmacy information handy so we can call it in to your location of choice.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Yes! Most appointments can be scheduled for the same day and typically last 15 minutes. Log in to schedule your appointment or wait see the next provider, when available. Appointments are available 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How much does it cost?

If you have the Horizon or Legacy Select Plan, appointments will have a $10 copay. Base Plan members pay $49 per visit, and are eligible for a $10 copay after meeting their annual deductible.

What equipment is needed for an appointment?

If you can video chat, you can have a telehealth visit. UMMC 2 You appointments require access to a desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet with audio-visual capabilities including a camera, microphone, and speakers.

Who will I see if I schedule an appointment?

All of our providers are board-certified in family medicine and are specially trained to provide care via the internet.

If I require in-person care and want see a non-UMMC physician, can you refer me?

Absolutely! We have a statewide network of physicians that we can easily refer you to for follow-up care. Our goal is to make receiving care convenient for your busy schedule, and close to home. You will always have a choice.
