Clinical Provider Onboarding

Clinical provider onboarding is a planned program that provides an opportunity for new providers to engage in dialogue with institutional subject matter experts regarding organizational expectations related to the provider role.

In clinical provider onboarding, providers discuss expectations related to quality, safety and patient satisfaction. Specific topics include, but are not limited to the following:

  • UMMC’s Learning Management System
  • Revenue Cycle: Pre-arrival and Billing
  • Patient Placement/Transfer Process
  • Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Expectations and Resources for Escalation Process
  • Documentation Impact of Quality Patient Care

Additionally, providers have the opportunity to network with subject matter experts and other providers across the organization, which is key in a long-term positive relationship at UMMC.

Our overall goal is to provide time sensitive and relevant information that will align provider roles and responsibilities with institutional expectations.

This program is held biweekly (payroll week) and is for clinical providers, which includes the following: physician (MD or DO), dentist, certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistant (PA) with UMMC health system privileges.
