Sherri Franklin, assistant professor in the School of Nursing, received a BSN and a MSN in Health Care and Nursing Administration from the University of Mississippi. She previously served as adjunct faculty for two terms prior to assuming her current full-time position. She has many years of previous management experience in case management, utilization management and discharge planning. She previously held certification in Utilization Management and was granted Certified Instructor status for McKesson’s decision support criteria, InterQual. Prior to working at UMMC, Sherri worked for several years in the state’s largest long-term care facility as a nurse administrator.Sherri has been active in the Mississippi Nurses Association for many years and previously served as District 13 President from 2010 to 2012. Immediately prior to her transfer to the School of Nursing, she worked as a manager in the Children’s Hospital in Quality and Clinical Documentation Improvement.
