Associate Professor of Nursing
Director, Nursing and Health Care Administrator track
Dr. Rebecca Rives is an Associate Professor and Director of the Nursing and Health Care Administrator track for the University of Mississippi School of Nursing master's program. She earned her BSN and Masters in Nursing Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and her PhD from UMMC. She is nationally certified as a nurse executive-advanced from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and certified in human resources asset management through Chicago Change Partners. Well versed in strategic planning and project management, Dr. Rives has developed strategic plans and project plans for dozens of companies throughout the United States. Prior to joining UMMC, she held executive-level positions for a national home care company, a quality improvement organization and a hospice company.Dr. Rives is a member of the Theta Beta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and serves on the membership review committee for the international office. Additional memberships include the Mississippi Nurses Association where she served as state president early in her career; the Mississippi Nurses Foundation, where she also served as President; the Mississippi Organization of Nurse Executives; and Phi Kappa Phi. Her main area of interest is management, especially the subcategory of conflict management, strategic management and operational management.
