Assistant Professor of Nursing
Nikki Pittman's career as a nurse and educator has spanned the last decade. She has been a labor and delivery nurse for the past 10 years and nurse educator for the past four years. In her current faculty role in the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing, she is responsible for instructing students in the health assessment, pediatric and maternal-child courses. She is a member of several School of Nursing committees, including the Multicultural Affairs committee and the Nursing Alumni committee. She also serves as the School of Nursing liaison for the University of Mississippi Health Care Nurse Residency Program. She is active in many professional organizations, including the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and Eliza Pillars Registered Nurses Association. She is also a certified fetal heart rate monitoring instructor. Her presentations primarily are in the area of women's health and nursing education. She is active in her church and volunteers frequently at Mount Olive High School in her hometown of Mount Olive, Miss.
