Assistant Professor of Nursing
Dr. Eva Tatum, assistant professor of nursing, teaches in the Accelerated BSN program on the Oxford Campus. She serves as advisor for pre-nursing students in the Freshman Early-Entry program at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, as well as for students in the early-entry post-baccalaureate BSN-DNP program. She also holds the position of Project Manager for a HRSA ANE grant titled MS Accelerated DNP Pathways integrating IPE (MAD PIPE). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 and Master of Science in Nursing, with a focus on nursing education, in 2007 from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing. Prior to faculty appointment in September 2009, she gained clinical nursing experience in hematology, oncology, bone marrow/stem cell transplantation and end-of-life care and obtained certification in oncology nursing. She received her PhD in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University in 2016.
Dr. Tatum is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. She serves as board president and elected president for the Alabama/Mississippi chapter of the Transcultural Nursing Society. She has served as National League of Nursing ambassador for the School of Nursing since 2009. Her research interests include end-of-life care, student perceptions, test anxiety and determinants of success.
