Our faculty members are nationally recognized experts and can prepare you to practice in a rapidly changing health-care environment. Our dedicated staff works with faculty to ensure your success.

The School of Nursing was founded in 1948 and offered the first baccalaureate program in the state. Since that time, thousands of graduates have cared for the people of Mississippi in health- care organizations and at home. We also initiated the state's first master's program in nursing in 1970 and its first collaborative doctoral program in 1998. A quick look around the website will show how much we've grown since these accomplishments. All of our programs are nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Urban and rural nurse practitioner managed clinics, including school based, primary care and mobile, provide experiences that prepare our graduates to deliver quality care from acute to community settings. The School of Nursing simulation labs and virtual learning spaces house the latest technology to ensure the success of our students. Faculty and staff are experts in the use of these technologies and create learning opportunities that fully prepare graduates to be the best in their areas of preparation.

For over 60 years, the School of Nursing has been providing exceptional nursing education to thousands of individuals. Our legacy is preparing graduates who excel in nursing and work daily to improve the health of all Mississippians.

Join us as we work toward a dynamic vision for shaping health and health care.
